Converge Signals, FSI - Data Scientist_Products & Platforms

Today• Milwaukee, WI

Position Summary

The Team

The Innovation & Delivery Transformation (I&DT) team is building the future of Deloitte's business through new AI-native platforms and products. The team is responsible for identifying, nurturing, scaling, and winning in new markets through new capabilities. Rather than relying on what the firm has historically done, I&DT looks ahead and invests in areas where growth is expected three, five, and ten years into the future.

Are you looking for a unique opportunity with both start-up spirit AND enterprise strength? Deloitte's Converge for FSI business offers both! We are looking for a talented Data Scientist to join the Converge for FSI team and help build differentiated, data-driven financial services products that achieve product-market fit. This is a great opportunity to work at the intersection of advanced analytics and financial services industry expertise, developing the models and insights that power Signals for FSI and future products in the Converge for FSI portfolio.

Position Summary

Financial services data holds enormous, often-underused potential - and turning it into decisions the business can act on takes both rigorous technical craft and real industry fluency. As a Data Scientist on the Signals for FSI team, you'll build the analytical engine behind one of Converge for FSI's flagship products, working hands-on with real financial services data to develop models clients can trust. You'll do it on a team that pairs start-up speed with the scale and credibility of Deloitte, giving you room to experiment while your work reaches some of the most influential institutions in financial services.

Recruiting for this role ends on 12/1/2026.

Work you'll do

As the Data Scientist, you will work at the intersection of data science, product, and financial services domain expertise to build and refine the models and analytics that power Signals for FSI:

  • Develop, test, and refine statistical and machine learning models using financial services datasets (e.g., consumers, businesses, transactions, accounts, risk, or market data) to power Signals for FSI.
  • Partner with the Product team to translate financial services use cases into data requirements, features, data signals, and model specifications.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and validate data quality across structured and semi-structured financial services data sources.
  • Evaluate model performance against business and regulatory considerations relevant to financial services and iterate based on findings.
  • Translate analytical findings into clear, business-relevant insights for Product, Sales, and client-facing teams.
  • Stay current on emerging Statistical, AI/ML techniques and financial services data trends, and evaluate their application to the Signals for FSI roadmap.

The successful candidate would possess these skills:

  • Genuine interest in and working knowledge of the financial services industry, with curiosity about how data translates into real client outcomes - early use cases are retail banking, investment and wealth management and insurance, but will expand over time.
  • Strong analytical rigor paired with sound judgment about when a signal or model is ready to ship versus needing further refinement.
  • Comfortable moving between hands-on technical work and clear communication with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
  • Self-directed and organized, with the ability to manage multiple analytical workstreams at once.
  • Collaborative mindset and a willingness to partner closely with engineering and product teams to bring models into production.
  • Comfortable working through ambiguous, messy problems that require creativity and persistence.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 4+ years of experience in applied data science, machine learning, or statistical modeling, including hands-on model development and validation - proficient at using Python, SQL and other data transformation and analytical tools
  • Ability to travel 10-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree (Master's) in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working with financial services data (e.g., banking, capital markets, investment management, or insurance) or delivering analytics solutions to financial services clients.
  • 2+ years of working with customer data to build audiences and segments for sales and marketing use cases.
  • Experience with cloud-based data and analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) in a financial services or other highly regulated industry context.
  • Experience with MCP servers and use of AI to analyze large data sets.
