Capital Projects Senior Consultant - (Utilities)

Work you'll do
As a Senior Consultant in our practice, your responsibilities will include:
- Help our clients on all aspects of the capital project delivery and execution process across the entire project lifecycle, including cost and schedule assurance, risk analysis and avoidance, contracting/procurement, data analytics and project governance
- Build suitable structures, systems, and controls so that our clients can deliver capital projects with confidence
- Help organizations plan, manage and control project cost and schedule through construction auditing, schedule analysis and litigation support
- Deploy construction analytics to help our clients harness data to create insights in actionable form
- Help our clients to increase accountability and transparency throughout the asset management lifecycle
- Provide financial advisory assistance in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and financial restructurings
- Assess capital project programs, construction management processes and controls, and project risk
- Participate in team problem solving efforts and offer ideas to solve client issues
- Maintain responsibility for completion and accuracy of work products
- Assist in proposal development, as requested
- Actively expand consulting skills and professional development through training courses, mentoring, and daily interaction with clients

The team
Our Infrastructure and Real Estate team are trusted advisors to clients in managing physical assets throughout their lifecycle. We help them unlock value from their real estate portfolios and functions by developing strategies, optimizing operating models and organizational design, and leveraging technology enablement.
Qualifications required:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial, or civil engineering preferred) or construction management
- 4+ years of experience working within the power utilities and or/renewable energy industry with exposure to transmission and distribution, generation (including nuclear, wind, and solar) and energy operations
- Specialized knowledge in project management, including program and project controls, financial planning, documentation management, contract administration, and construction supervision
- Demonstrated experience with project controls and scheduling using Primavera P6
- Demonstrated experience working on major construction projects
- Demonstrated experience in business development, strategic planning, and managing client relationships
- Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience
- Ability to understand and analyze construction documents
- Professional demeanor and strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel up to 50% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred:
- Master's degree in architecture or engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial, or civil engineering preferred) or construction management and MBA
- At least one of the following certifications: RA, PE, ASA, PMP, CFA, CFE, CCE or CPA
- Proficiency in using Project Management tools, including Oracle Unifier, Procore, Hexagon Ecosys, Kahua, Primavera P6, and Power BI
- Experience in a professional services firm
- International engagement experience
You may also be eligible to participate in a sales incentive program, whereby you may be eligible to receive certain incentive compensation amounts based on achievement of certain sales goals set forth each year, subject to the terms and conditions of any applicable program document.
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $102,500 to $188,900.
