Position Summary
The Senior Sourcing Analyst provides critical analytical and operational support to the Strategic Sourcing team, with a primary focus on Direct Procurement and/or Pharmaceutical categories. This role is responsible for executing complex spend analyses, managing sourcing events (RFx), and developing data-driven insights to support category strategies. The ideal candidate will combine strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate supply risk.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Spend Analysis & Opportunity Identification:
Analyze purchasing data across multiple categories to identify trends, cost drivers, and savings opportunities.
Develop and maintain category spend cubes and savings tracking models.
Monitor compliance with preferred vendor contracts and identify leakage. - Sourcing Event Execution (RFx):
Lead the quantitative aspects of the sourcing process, including baseline development, bid sheet creation, and scenario modeling.
Support the end-to-end RFP process: gathering requirements, managing supplier communications, and summarizing bid responses for leadership review.
Assist in the negotiation process by providing "should-cost" models and financial impact analyses. - Market Intelligence & Strategy Support:
Conduct market research on supplier capabilities, industry trends, and regulatory changes (e.g., FDA approvals, commodity indices).
Support Category Managers in the development of long-term category strategies and supplier relationship management (SRM) plans. - Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with Clinical, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure sourcing initiatives align with patient care objectives and operational goals.
Prepare executive-level presentations and dashboards to communicate project status and financial results. - Contract Management:
Assist in the drafting and review of contract exhibits, amendments, and statements of work (SOW).
Maintain the contract repository and track key renewal dates and performance metrics.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field required.
- Experience:
2-5+ years of relevant experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain analysis, or financial planning & analysis (FP&A).
Experience with direct procurement or highly regulated industries (Healthcare/Pharma) is strongly preferred. - Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, modeling) and PowerPoint.
Experience with procurement systems (e.g., Coupa, Oracle) and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) is a plus.
- Analytical Rigor: Ability to synthesize large datasets into actionable strategic insights.
- Execution Focus: Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously with high attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to articulate complex data to cross-functional stakeholders.
