The Senior Director of Strategy & Development is a key member of the Procurement leadership team, responsible for driving organizational strategy, performance improvement, and capability development across the enterprise. Reporting to the Group Vice President of Procurement, this role provides leadership in strategic planning, data and analytics, business process optimization, risk management, and workforce development. The role will run the "day to day" side of the function, as well as manage goal setting and KPI tracking.

The Senior Director ensures the Procurement organization operates as a high-performing, value-driven function that supports clinical, operational, and financial excellence across the national dialysis network. This leader will align long-term strategy with execution, leveraging analytics, innovation, and talent development to advance organizational priorities and deliver measurable results. The leader will also be the champion of our digitization journey including AI use case development.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Business Development

• Partner with the Group Vice President to define and execute the strategic roadmap for the Procurement organization.

• Identify emerging trends, innovation opportunities, and process enhancements to strengthen procurement and supplier management capabilities.

• Translate enterprise goals into actionable initiatives with clear milestones, performance metrics, and accountability.

• Support executive decision-making with strategic analyses, business cases, and insights.

Business Process Optimization

• Lead the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of procurement and contract management processes.

• Develop and own the DaVita Way of Procurement - including governance

• Oversee the Head of Business Process to drive standardization, compliance, and efficiency across sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management activities.

• Collaborate with IT and operations teams to implement automation, digital workflow tools, and process modernization.

Data, Analytics & Performance Management

• Oversee the Head of Data & Analytics in developing actionable dashboards, KPIs, and reporting frameworks that inform strategic decisions.

• Drive the use of data analytics to improve spend visibility, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.

• Ensure robust data governance and integration across procurement systems and business units.

Risk Management & Compliance

• Lead the Risk Process Manager in developing frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate operational and supplier-related risks.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance standards.

• Support contingency planning and resiliency initiatives for procurement and supply continuity.

Learning & Development

• Direct the Learning & Development Manager in building organizational capability and talent pipelines within Procurement.

• Establish programs to strengthen category management, negotiation, and supplier relationship management skills.

• Promote a culture of continuous learning, engagement, and career growth.

Other Duties as Assigned

Education and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

• 15+ years of progressive experience in procurement, business strategy, or enterprise transformation; healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated success leading large-scale strategic and process improvement initiatives.

• Strong background in data analytics, business planning, and performance measurement.

• Excellent leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple workstreams in a complex organization.

• Knowledge of procurement systems (ERP, SRM, analytics platforms) and best-in-class sourcing methodologies.

• Knowledge of emerging AI strategies and tools
