CVS Health is recruiting for a Lead Director, AI & Data Strategy Principal. The Medicare Technology organization at CVS Health, Aetna is currently engaged in strategic initiatives that are multi-year programs solving complex problems to improve and modernize our data strategy for Medicare, working across the enterprise to align with data governance and AI initiatives. Today we have fragmented data across multiple systems. To address this challenge and unlock the insights from the data via application of AI/ML will require solid experience and expertise in developing data solutions including data pipelines that need to be architected and designed. The skill sets needed for this role are of data engineering, data platforms in the cloud, AI/ML, LLM, AI Models, as well as defining data governance. This role will lead the data strategy for Aetna's Medicare technology line of business and evolve and grow as the technology advances and we solve complex problems.Required Qualifications

The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company's business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:

  • 12+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, data management, or related roles, with at least 3 years in a Principal position.
  • Extensive knowledge of data modeling, data governance, database design, data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and data technologies (e.g., Spark, relational and NoSQL databases).
  • Proficiency with data architecture tools and platforms (e.g., ERwin, Kafka, Redis) and familiarity with cloud data services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Ability to establish a single source of truth for various data domains to ensure the availability of clean, accurate, and timely data for Medicare operational systems.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong Healthcare background is highly desirable.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset, capable of translating business needs into effective data solutions.
  • A strategic mind-set that is considering the macro while working on the micro.
  • A passion for technology and an interest and disposition to learn and evolve as AI continues to dominate our strategic thinking and actions.
  • Buy vs. Build Analysis: In-depth experience in performing Buy vs. Build analysis based on qualitative and quantitative assessments across available options to provide a final recommendation based on rationale.
  • Architecture and Design Reviews: Play a key leadership role in architecture design reviews, identifying gaps and recommending design changes. Actively lead and participate in the architecture community to drive modernization opportunities for the advancement of PBM technology while considering the complexities of our IT landscape.
  • Proof of Concept Technology Support: Lead and drive proofs-of-concept and technology deep-dives specific to partner technologies.
  • Cost Optimization Identification: Engage with appropriate stakeholders to recommend or assess opportunities to drive cost efficiencies aimed at simplicity, configurability, and the eventual elimination of technical debt associated with Pharmacy Services applications.

Bachelor's DegreePay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:$144,200.00 - $288,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
