Oak Street Health is looking for a lead data scientist to join our care and risk modeling team. This team is responsible for delivering high quality modern data solutions through collaboration with engineers, analysts, and product teams in a fast-paced, agile environment leveraging cutting-edge technology to reimagine how Healthcare is provided. As a lead data scientist you will be responsible for guiding a team of data scientists and analysts in developing and refining heavily utilized models such as DataIQ ( link ). In this position, you will be responsible for taking on new initiatives associated with enhancements, expansion, maintenance and scaling. As a member of our team, you will make an immediate impact as you help expand our data science capabilities across our whole care model. This is a fast-paced role with high growth, visibility, impact, and where many of the decisions for new projects will be driven by you and your team from inception through production.Responsibilities
  • Lead our care and risk modeling team through design, development, and deployment of new functionalities
  • Function as a thought partner for business stakeholders to determine impactful applications of statistical analysis and machine learning
  • Iterate with clinical and population health partners to tailor models and tools to address program requirements
  • Wrangle and analyze large structured and unstructured datasets in a highly repeatable fashion
  • Work closely with other development teams to create the platform vision and evolve the product roadmap
  • Develop and mentor a team of junior data scientists
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and a positive, solution-oriented attitude
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of relevant data science or analytics experience.
  • 1+ years of technical mentoring experience.
  • Experience using SQL and Python in a cloud (GCP, Azure, AWS) to solve analytical problems.
  • Experience solving analytics problems in the healthcare domain using clinical data.
  • Experience leading analytics projects from concept to delivery by coordinating across a diverse set of stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree preferred in a related field
  • Experience with model productionalization lifecycle (Assessment, Deployment, Monitoring, Retraining).
  • Extensive experience with SQL-based relational databases.
  • Understanding of the use and misuse of statistics for causal inference.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of the use and misuse of statistics for causal inference.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:$106,605.00 - $284,280.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.Our people fuel our future.
