Zinc Health Services has an opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Director of Value Based Contracting and Health Economics. Zinc, as a GPO and affiliate of CVS Health, is tasked with delivering new innovative ways to reduce the cost and maximize the value of pharmaceuticals on behalf of our clients. In this role you will utilize your analytic and negotiation acumen to develop and drive value based contracting strategies that support that cost and value mission.The Director of Value Based Contracting and Health Economics role is a high impact role within Zinc Health Services. The position is responsible for driving the expansion and evolution of value-based programs strategies. You will be expected to analyze, develop, and contract a portfolio of value-based programs and strategies across a breadth of drugs and manufacturers including the ability to evaluate and communicate the results of those programs and strategies.You will work with multiple internal (i.e. Trade Negotiators, Clinical, Product, IT) and external (manufacturer) partners to establish relationships and articulate potential programs and strategies with a deep understanding of utilization and cost patterns that underlie them. You will assist Zinc Trade leadership in meeting financial management goals, including rebate generation. This is an outstanding opportunity with exposure to leadership; and a chance to create strong partnerships.To be successful, you will utilize your strategic vision, creativity, and critical thinking ability. Your presentation and public speaking experience, your demonstrated track record of success with analytic projects or product development, as well as your experience handling multiple client/stakeholder relationships with key decision makers will be critical to your success.Ideally, this role will be located out of Bloomington, MN or Northbrook, IL. - Proactively drive development of value-based programs and strategies including analytic assessment, contract development and execution, program implementation, and results tracking.
- Partner with trade negotiators and analytic and finance teams to characterize and develop strategies using health economic analyses. Analyses will move beyond simple unit cost to assess patient level data, identifying usage and practice patterns at a class, drug and condition specific level.
- Lead discussions and negotiations with drug manufacturers specific to value-based programs including presentations on Zinc programs and capabilities, contract development and negotiations, and articulating program results.
- Act as the internal Trade Relations lead for value based and innovating contracting (VBC) initiatives, interacting with trade negotiators, clinical, operational, finance and analytic, and IT teams. Includes extensive communication of program strategies and requirements to ensure appropriate understanding to ensure accurate program implementation, contracting, and tracking.
- Assisting with strategic initiatives, including working in a cross functional team environment on multiple projects at a time and handling needs from the Trade Relations organization.
- Prioritize new and existing opportunities based on viability and relative merit.
- Role scope includes approved and pipeline products in specialty and non-specialty categories.
- 10+ years of professional work experience in healthcare, managed care, health plans, or PBM.
- Experience with pharmacy benefit management (i.e. drug rebates, drug spend, formulary strategies, pharmaeconomic analysis, contracting).
- Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Travel: Up to 15%
- Advanced degree (e.g. MBA, R.Ph or PharmD) preferred
- Experience with healthcare outcomes analyses (e.g., budget impact, cost effectiveness) and/or value-based contracts
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required.
The typical pay range for this role is:$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
