We are looking for a talented Working Leader to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Maxton, NC .

Job Summary:

Operates machines and production equipment independently in accordance with quality and productivity requirements safely in a manufacturing environment and may instruct or coach others.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Ensure Safety: By stopping work and reporting any major injury hazards immediately, you'll help maintain a safe work environment.

Promote Health: Reporting any work-related injury, illness, incident, or hazard ensures that health issues are addressed promptly.

Responsibilities - Essential functions:

Working Leader (supports the production technician directly). Responsible for:

  • Process start-up and control
  • Meet production goals
  • Respond to line stops by team members
  • Confirm quality - routine checks
  • Cover absenteeism, line fill-in - duties include filling in on line when teammates are out and working on autonomous maintenance tasks with the team
  • Training and cross-training
  • Work orders for quick maintenance
  • Ensure standardized work is followed
  • Facilitate small group activities
  • On-going continuous improvement projects
  • Ensure parts/materials are supplied to process-coordinate with Material handlers
  • Support team in building quality in product
  • Update/improve Standard Work standard
  • Continuous improvement activities
  • Provide production support on company projects as required.
  • Plan and recover from assembly line and test equipment system failures.
  • Comply with all Meritor written environmental (ISO 14001) and quality (TS 16949) policies.
  • All other job tasks as required by leadership.
