DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Transport Team Leader to join our team specializing in Logistics for Cummins in Daventry, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom .
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential to become permanent. Working hours are Monday to Friday on a weekly rotating shift: 7:00am-3:00pm and 2:00pm-10:00pm (plus shift allowance).
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Lead and coordinate daily operations across international and domestic transportation activities, ensuring timely and efficient shipment execution.
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of 16 employees, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to drive engagement and productivity.
- Oversee inbound and export shipping processes, including booking transport equipment, preparing documentation, and ensuring smooth customs clearance.
- Ensure full compliance with SOX, trade regulations, and all applicable legal and regulatory requirements in transportation operations.
- Act as the main escalation point for transportation-related issues, resolving operational challenges quickly and effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and actively participate in key meetings to align on priorities and expectations.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends and implementing actions to improve performance.
- Identify, initiate, and lead continuous improvement projects to optimize transportation processes, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Must have excellent attention to detail, quality control is critical.
- Good computer background with a solid understanding of word and excel.
- Previous Domestic / International Transportation experience.
- Good Communication / Collaborative approach.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Experience:
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and relevant experience.
