Test Engineers - Seniors #IN1272

Yesterday Seymour, IN

DESCRIPTION

Apply advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices to drive specification, design, development, analysis, release, validation, and maintenance of new and current products and subsystems through the product life cycle. Design and implement test processes. Investigate product, system, and/or technology problems, understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate action, own problem resolution and document results. Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs. Work on business processes including Product Preceding Technology (PPT), Value Package Introduction (VPI) or Current Product Support (CPS), and execute technical processes such as Engineering Standard Work (ESW), iDFMEA, Failure Incident Review Group (FIRG) while using tools such as 7-step problem solving, design review checklist, and other mechanical engineering tools. Perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. Analyze results of Engine Test Control Systems to provide recommendation and guidance in root cause of test failure events. Obtain input from stakeholders to deliver information and recommendations that lead to successful engineering project decisions. Select and apply the sensor technology, performing measurements in the acquired data that leads to the correct analysis and conclusion to help differentiate products that meet quality standards from non-conforming products. Develop or test models of alternate designs or processing methods to assess feasibility, sustainability, operating condition effects, potential new applications, or necessity of modification. Develop and implement Controls System Security by specifying, reviewing, and approving company-owned and supplier designs for new equipment or upgrades to existing equipment to ensure manufacturing controls and systems are secure. Utilize factory floor Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) technologies and work with consultants to specific design and operation. Apply mechanical engineering knowledge and existing experience to act on and make decisions that progress projects forward without sacrificing project quality expectations, including analysis or test work instruction details. Own problem resolution for moderately complex components, products, systems, subsystems, or services and read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports. Utilize knowledge of Controls Networking to implement new and improve technologies/methods capable of transferring information from multiple inputs either within a local production process or into databases to link machines together or to analyze the process for overall operation enhancements. Provide independent execution of established work processes and systems, while still developing technology or product knowledge, and engage with the improvement of mechanical engineering systems and processes. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Fundamentals by identifying, reporting and participating in actions to improve health and safety in order to build an interdependent culture and contribute to an injury-free workplace.
