DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Test Engineer - Senior (On-site) to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Seymour, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Optimize Testing Efficiency By designing and implementing robust test processes, you'll reduce cycle times and improve overall manufacturing throughput.
- Enhance Product Quality Your analysis of test results and root cause identification will directly contribute to higher product reliability and fewer defects.
- Drive Automation Adoption Recommending and implementing automated test tools will streamline operations, minimize manual errors, and lower costs.
- Ensure Compliance and Safety By enforcing adherence to safety and manufacturing standards in all test procedures, you'll safeguard both employees and products.
- Support Cross-Functional Collaboration Your knowledge across engineering, quality, and manufacturing will help bridge gaps between teams, fostering better communication and alignment.
- Mentor and Develop Talent Coaching less experienced employees will strengthen team capabilities and create a culture of continuous improvement.
- Innovate Test Architectures Developing and upgrading test equipment and architectures will keep the organization ahead in technology and competitive in the market.
- Improve Assembly-Level Testing Understanding functional tests during assembly ensures early detection of issues, reducing downstream failures and warranty costs.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Information:
- Role Expectations: This role is 100% on-site.
- Serve as a Manufacturing Engineer within the Engine Test segment of the SEP business, providing technical leadership and hands-on support for mechanical machinery, engine control systems, cell control systems, and associated equipment.
- Engage directly with both new and existing machinery and systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Provide dynamic support for projects across the broader test area, adapting to changing priorities and business needs.
- Apply expertise in engine control systems (such as Comptek) and computer programming/control to enhance testing processes and system functionality.
- Demonstrate initiative by independently identifying, prioritizing, and executing projects, while effectively resolving moderate to complex technical challenges.
- Perform daily activities including process review, modification, approval, and implementation; lead functional project support for ER, PQP, RFT, BIS, and HSE issue resolution; troubleshoot machine issues involving PLCs and engine control systems; and coordinate implementation of new processes and equipment.
- Lead implementation of new option changes for assigned equipment/areas, oversee mechanical cell repair and design modifications (including fluid systems, fixturing, and driveline subsystems), and collaborate closely with Skilled Trades during repair and troubleshooting activities.
- Partner with suppliers to source, design, and implement new equipment and machinery; support production assembly operations; participate in design reviews and cross-functional initiatives to drive plant improvements and achieve operational goals.
- Provide direct supervisory oversight for 1-3 hourly Advanced Manufacturing Associates (AMA), ensuring alignment with area objectives and fostering team development.
