DESCRIPTION

Assess, define, and champion IT Architecture strategies, principles, policies and standards in alignment with Cummins IT strategy and govern their use. Guide the product and project teams to create, document, assess and/or validate the application and infrastructure architecture artifacts. Leverage knowledge of ETL tools including Informatica, in addition to Azure Data Lake and other Azure components. Design for specific systems to meet Cummins security policies, governance, compliance, and regulations and review the architecture artifacts with the stakeholders. Assist leadership teams on Cummins IT strategic initiatives and Architecture initiatives. Lead the research, evaluation, and selection of application, technology, and infrastructure standards. Leverage knowledge of Palantir to integrate data assets and models and lead the analysis of the technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. Utilize strategic planning to produce a high-level, multi-year product and capability roadmap utilizing internal and external business resource, asset, and market knowledge and experience to communicate the organization's focus and priorities to internal and external stakeholders. Develop standards for the specific function or technology domain and define design patterns and configurations that can be reused as building blocks for other solutions. Utilize cloud-based data warehousing platforms including Snowflake and Databricks to enable detailed data analytics and visualization and drive solution decisions. Lead and facilitate the creation of governing principles to manage change and guide solution decisions for the enterprise. Lead the efforts to ensure coherence and completeness across all Cummins Technology Reference Model (CTRM) disciplines. Define and ensure effective metrics to measure standards adoption, reuse, and demonstrate value. Perform complex cost/benefit analysis when researching future state capabilities. Drive strong relationships to deliver business value using Business Relationship Management practices. Apply Architecture System Design principles through the use of an architecture development framework and methodology that enables the organization to transform its systems in a controlled manner in response to business needs. Compose and decompose a system into its component parts using Solution Functional Fit Analysis for the purpose of studying how well the component parts were designed, purchased, and configured to interact holistically to meet business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements. Apply knowledge of System Solution Architecture to create solution designs and patterns using the Cummins Technical Reference Model (CTRM), CLEAN standards, and existing reference patterns to maintain alignment to Cummins standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Positions require a Master's degree in Data or Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years of experience as a Solution or Data Architect, IT Analyst or Consultant, or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Data or Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 5 years of experience as a Solution or Data Architect, IT Analyst or Consultant, or related position. Experience to include: IT Architecture strategies; ETL tools including Informatica; Azure Data Lake and other Azure components; Strategic planning roadmap; Cloud-based data warehousing platforms including Snowflake and Databricks; Business Relationship Management practices; Architecture System Design principles through the use of an architecture development framework and methodology; Solution Functional Fit Analysis; System Solution Architecture.
