At Cummins Inc., the Supply Chain Analyst uses analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance end-to-end supply chain processes. This role is responsible for analyzing supply chain performance, identifying gaps, and developing data-driven recommendations to improve operational efficiency, inventory performance, and customer delivery outcomes.
For internal candidates, the role focuses on the Whole Goods Distribution business across the EMEA region, managing inventory projections, KPI performance matrices, and lead-time governance across regional and segment flows.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide analytical support to one or more supply chain functional areas.
- Use common processes, tools, and enterprise information systems to enable robust and repeatable supply chain analytics.
- Ensure data integrity across reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Analyze and interpret Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify performance gaps and develop action plans.
- Participate in Six Sigma and supply chain improvement initiatives.
- Extract, transform, model, interpret, and present planning data to support value-creating decision-making.
- Use advanced planning tools (e.g., Advanced Planning Command Centre, BI dashboards) to support decisions related to parts availability, inventory optimization, and root cause analysis.
- Manage materials planning systems to balance supply and demand, address exception messages, and take corrective action based on root cause analysis.
- Apply Plan for Every Part (PFEP) principles to ensure delivery of the right part, at the right time, in the right quantity, to the right place.
- Optimize inventory investment across the end-to-end supply chain within operational constraints.
- Interpret supply chain KPIs to understand end-customer impact and strategically balance trade-offs.
- For EMEA Whole Goods Distribution:
- Track sales orders, build plans (Daventry, Fridley, and Import flows), and inventory in a consolidated end-to-end view.
- Manage Whole Goods lead-times across regional and segment flows.
- Support inventory projections and KPI performance management across DBUs.

Experience Required - 5+ Years
Functional Skills
- Material Planning and foundational understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes.
- Inventory Management and Optimization.
- Data extraction, transformation, and analytical interpretation.
- Experience using materials planning systems and ERP tools.
- Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of BI tools is an added advantage.
- Exposure to advanced analytics tools and dashboards preferred.
