Supplier Quality Engineer

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team specializing in Quality for our Meritor HVS AB - Quality Assurance Department in Lindesberg, Örebro, Sweden. Please note that this is an on-site role and requires working from the office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Develop suppliers and products that consistently meet customer requirements by leveraging strong quality and technical expertise.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, including external suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders such as Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
  • Support cross-functional supplier selection processes to ensure optimal component sourcing.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers to validate manufacturing processes for compliance with engineering prints, standards, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Apply industry-standard tools and methodologies such as APQP, AIAG tools, and Cummins-specific processes to achieve zero-defect components.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the external supply base using proven approaches like Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Conduct supplier audits to mitigate risk, assess readiness, and improve overall supplier performance.
  • Lead resolution of supplier-related quality issues through root cause analysis, corrective action development, and effectiveness verification.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Experience:

  • Proficiency in Swedish required.
  • College, university degree, or equivalent in Engineering or a related technical/scientific discipline.
  • Preferably, relevant experience in a Manufacturing or Engineering role within the automotive industry or another similarly regulated industry.
