  • Current Enrollment: You must be a current student in high school or in a college/university with interest in experimental machining or related trades.

Job Summary:

Works with relevant functions to analyze, design and manufacture components using machine tool equipment. Thoroughly understand the protocols of working safely with industrial equipment, electricity, and other energy sources. Has a desire to learn and grow in the field of machining.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards.
  • Report any work-related injury, illness, incident, or hazard.
  • Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Promote interdependence by looking out for one another.
  • Correct hazards within your control and capabilities.
  • Recognize how your work may impact the environment and work to minimize the negative impact.
  • Engage in HSE Training.
  • Quality Applies high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship. Support equipment failure analysis.
  • Raises issues to minimize cost and quality exposures. Performs quality inspections.
  • Open to learning to become proficient setting up and operating machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment to machine parts to specifications.
  • Open to learning to become proficient in the use of precision measuring devices, layout work, set up of all tool room machines to build or fabricate details and assemble as needed.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks.
  • Performs other duties as required to meet production goals.
  • Work with peers and support staff to: Identify and reduce manufacturing constraints
  • Completes training and personal development in line with business requirements.

Experience:

  • Preferred applicant to have at least one semester of C4 Columbus Area Career Connection

Precision Machining CAD/CAM or equivalent

  • Open to learning to be able to read and interpret component drawings
  • Open to learning to to create process plan from drawing to complete work request to machine component working with customer to clarify short comings
  • Open to learning to use Mastercam and CAD software
  • Open to learning to follow quality checks to assure product does match drawing/CAD- using the right gauge to complete measure.
  • Conducts work independently and collaborated as process plan requires to meet customer needs.
  • Follow all safety requirements.
