Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Site Quality Engineer - Senior to join our team in Columbus, IN . In this role, you will drive quality excellence across manufacturing operations by leading continuous improvement initiatives focused on defect prevention, customer satisfaction, and operational performance. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in automotive or similarly regulated environments and is highly skilled in quality systems, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), PPAP, FMEA, SPC, capability studies, and structured problem-solving methodologies. You will leverage data-driven decision-making, statistical analysis, measurement science, and quality management principles to improve product and process performance while ensuring compliance with IATF and customer-specific requirements.

As a trusted quality leader and technical resource, you will collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and program teams to support product launches, change management activities, customer issue resolution, and audit readiness. Success in this role requires strong project management capabilities, the ability to influence stakeholders, and a passion for developing sustainable quality improvements through lean manufacturing, industry-proven quality tools, and emerging Quality 4.0 technologies.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, process capability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive resolution of customer quality concerns through effective containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations across manufacturing operations.
  • Support successful product launches and engineering changes by validating process readiness and quality performance.
  • Utilize statistical analysis and quality data to identify trends, reduce variation, and improve business outcomes.
  • Conduct and support quality audits that strengthen system effectiveness and operational discipline.
  • Partner cross-functionally to prioritize and implement sustainable quality improvements across the site.
  • Coach and develop team members while fostering a culture of quality ownership and continuous learning.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Demonstrated expertise in manufacturing quality systems and the application of core quality tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, process audits, and capability studies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data, statistical methods, and root cause analysis to drive lasting improvements.
  • Proven ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Working knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulated manufacturing environments, with a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Demonstrated role competence is required. College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject or experience equivalent is required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Intermediate level of experience required. Preferably 3-5 years' experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Program Management role in the automotive industry or a similarly regulated industry. Minimum of 2 years of related manufacturing or quality experience required. Additional responsibilities include managing DWU Quality Associates.
