Senior Systems Engineer - ETO DMC

DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

Customer-Facing Engineering:

  • Consult with end customers and distributors to understand technical requirements.
  • Provide engineering recommendations and value engineering solutions.
  • Develop submittal drawings and operational philosophy documentation.
  • Support customer-facing problem resolution and change management.

System Design & Hardware Development:

  • Create AutoCAD Electrical drawings and design documentation.
  • Develop and release Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Prepare shop folder documentation for manufacturing.
  • Generate high-quality technical documentation and as-built drawings.
  • Follow the project schedule and ensure on-time deliverables.

Product & Process Engineering:

  • Apply tools like ESW, iDFMEA, 7-Step Problem Solving, and FIRG to ensure product integrity.
  • Investigate technical issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
  • Interface with multiple stakeholders (suppliers, manufacturing, purchasing, etc.) to ensure quality product decisions.
  • Contribute to technical reviews and cross-functional design integration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM field.
  • Post-graduate degree (preferred for select roles).
  • AutoCAD Electrical experience is mandatory .
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

QUALIFICATIONS

Desired Experience

  • 6+ years of professional engineering experience.
  • Internships, co-ops, or extracurricular technical project experience are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with generator sets, control panels, switchgear, or electronic controls is a plus.
  • Exposure to manufacturing and product development environments.

Technical Skills

  • Electrical power distribution systems understanding.
  • Knowledge of generator set and switchgear/control panel design.
  • Competency in statistical methods and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with open/closed loop control systems.
  • Application of systems thinking to solve complex technical problems.
