Safety Associate - OCU - Technical - 1st Shift

Job Summary:

Develops, implements, and leads health, safety, environmental, and emergency preparedness programs for a facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Develops and implements pertinent training; develops, implements, and leads health, safety, environmental, and emergency preparedness programs; maintains

health, safety, environmental, and emergency preparedness program. Understands and implements relevant legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements as

defined by agencies (such as, OSHA, EPA, state regulations, corporate requirements, DOC, Department of Homeland Security). Co-chairs facility Safety, Health

and Wellness Committees; serves as a primary contact for facility health and wellness issues; communicates health and wellness information with facility site

management. Serves as facility Emergency Coordinator; leads facility emergency preparedness for Emergency Response Medical Teams. Represents facility

on corporate occupational, health, safety, and environmental committees, as supervisor warrants time. Conducts occupational, safety and environmental audits

with facility Health, Safety and Environmental Management departments. Understands and applies appropriate Company and department rules and guidelines

to work and to systems; participates in the maintenance of quality procedures. Develops and conducts training programs; provides counseling, mentoring, and

coaching. Serves as company representatives in various capacities to customers, suppliers, and outside agencies. Interacts effectively with all s of employees

throughout the company. Exercises independent decision-making and initiative in determining what needs to be done and planning and implementing the

needed activities; performs problem solving, creative technical and analytical work, budget management, and hands on applications; coordinates programs

including planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking. Demonstrates adaptability and responsiveness to changing work needs and willingness to undertake new

tasks as they become evident; initiates, develops, leads, and participates in improvement projects. Knows and complies with all safety policies and procedures.

Demonstrates confidentiality as required. Shares work with exempt and other OCU employees as required. Manages own work and maintain a flexible schedule

in order to meet the demands of priority work; participates in self- and team-audits and associated corrective action; plans and engages in continuous learning in

order to be prepared for changing work demands. Travels as required by the position. Performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to get the job done.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.

Experience:

Four years of experience/education requirement accomplished through one of the following: Bachelor's degree, associate's degree and at least two

years of relevant experience, or at least four years of relevant experience required.

In the role you can expect to be responsible for the Powerfleet PIV management system within the Accelera Electrified Power CEP space. That includes tracking medical evaluations, trainings, and licenses. Fielding technical issues with the tool on the floor and working with the Powerfleet support team. You will re responsible for maintaining existing Accelera Velocity EHS risk assessment (project Heart) entries and entering new risk assessments as they come along. Training tracking and general record keeping for the Accelera functions is a vital responsibility. You may be required to function as a Subject matter expert in the cross functional teams supporting various programs apart of the greater CEP Health and Safety Management system.

2 year degree in Health and Safety Required, bachelors or interest in pursuing a BS/BA preferred.

Associate Safety Professional, Graduate Safety Professional, or Certified Safety Professional preferred.

Experience with corporate sponsored HSE tools preferred.
