Quality Technician - Level III

Yesterday Tochigi, Japan

Supports Engineers in carrying out production-related and inspection jobs; assists in monitor materials quality in processing plants and making the required adjustments; ensures maintenance of documentation and records. Works under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment and products to technical specifications to identify defects.
  • Conducts simple tests (for example on electrical function, reliability, packaging quality).
  • Records results and prepare simple technical reports.
  • Provides product and component testing using a range of measurement equipment.
  • Provides advanced programming, training, and operation of measurement and test equipment.
  • Assists customers in understanding/interpreting product specifications and application of measurement data.
  • Participates in measurement uncertainty studies for measurements associated with measurement or calibration results.
  • Ensures proper maintenance and calibration of the measurement and test equipment.

Qualifications
  1. Frequent travel between the Isuzu warehouse and Tochigi plant will be necessary to support ongoing quality and claim-related activities.
  2. On-site support, including assistance with part inspections and, if required, manual sorting of few parts at both the warehouse and plant locations, should be expected.
  3. The technician should be comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
  4. Flexibility in working hours may be required at times, depending on the operational needs at the warehouse or plant.
  5. But it will be required for the candidate to draft presentation & e-mails & reports in English. It would be preferred if the candidate can speak and understand basic English.
  6. Reading basis engineering drawing in English, is preferred. If not available, we will train him / her on this skill set in Cummins.

  • Quality Process Management - Proficient application of quality tools and methods (e.g. APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, Capability studies, Process Audit, inspection, test, etc.) to ensure quality of products, processes and services.

  • Laboratory Management - Leads technical resources while managing the business aspects of a laboratory using measure to control both the technical and business aspects of the organization and assuring the requirements of the appropriate certifications and/or accreditations are met.
