Job Summary

The Manufacturing Support Technician performs non-production activities that support manufacturing processes in alignment with Cummins' quality, safety, and productivity standards. Operating in a dynamic manufacturing environment, the role requires limited supervision and focuses on continuous improvement, process optimization, and equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

  • Immediately stop work and report any major injury hazards.
  • Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards.
  • Comply with all HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Promote a culture of safety and interdependence.
  • Correct hazards within scope and capability.
  • Minimize environmental impact through responsible work practices.
  • Participate actively in HSE training programs.

Quality

  • Adhere to standard work procedures, process documentation, and policies.
  • Identify and report quality concerns to reduce costs and risks.
  • Conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with specifications.

Delivery & Operations

  • Execute assigned tasks in accordance with defined roles and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate high competency in core manufacturing skills.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in quality, safety, and process efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Apply Cummins Operating System (COS) and Operations Excellence (OE) methodologies.
  • Collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams to ensure optimal process performance.
  • Perform additional duties as required to meet manufacturing goals.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Communicate effectively with team members and support functions.
  • Engage in ongoing training and personal development aligned with business needs.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving quality, safety, material flow, and employee development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications

  • High School and ITI or Diploma.
  • Additional technical certifications in welding, robotics, or mechanical engineering are preferred.
  • Licensing may be required for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.\

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Experience

Technical Knowledge

  • Robotic Welding Teaching Knowledge.
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Fixture Design and Maintenance.
  • Preventive Maintenance (PM) of Fixtures and Hydraulic Trollies.
  • Documentation and Process Control (FMEA, Work Instructions, Control Plans).

Experience

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Intermediate-level knowledge gained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.
