Product Systems Validation Technical Specialists #IN1283
Apply specialized knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices to obtain input and negotiate with Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver an optimized subsystem-based analytical and experimental verification plan to the program or project team. Verify and validate the functionality of mechanical products across a wide range of requirements, applications, and environments. Plan, track, and evaluate results from a range of analyses and functional tests to assess mechanical product risk and performance in order to drive quality decisions and proactively resolve product issues before the product reaches the customer. Make strategic decisions in the areas of verification and validation that impact product performance, reliability, and durability. Investigate and address potential mechanical system concerns or issues, understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate action, own problem resolution, and document results while applying and improving processes including Integrated Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (iDFMEA), Engineering Standard Work (ESW), (DVP&R) optimization, and tools including Integrity and McParts. Lead the development and improvement of work processes and systems across a functional discipline area and provide guide to influence technical direction within an engineering project team. Propose innovative initiatives and apply the Systems Definition and Design process including requirements allocation and architecture, capability determination through system modeling and testing. Solve product problems using a 7-step process that protects users, determine the assignable cause, implement robust, data-base solutions, and identify systemic root causes in order to recommend actions to prevent problem reoccurrence. Utilize knowledge of product failure mode avoidance to mitigate potential failures by identifying interfaces, functions, functional requirements, interactions, control factors, noise factors, and prioritized potential failure modes and potential failure cases for the system of interest to effectively and efficiently improve the reliability of products. Utilize System Requirements Engineering methods and tools to translate stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements to which designs are developed, establish acceptance criteria, track the status of requirements through the system lifecycle, and assess the impact of changes to system requirements on project scope, schedule, and resources. Lead Product Interface Management and Integration to control the interactions across the system element boundaries by making sure that they remain within specified limits, and to integrate system elements by creating an integration plan, including identification of method and timing for each activity to make it easier to find, isolate, diagnose, and correct.
