DESCRIPTION

Manage the commercial coordination and overall integration of technical activities for key product line lifecycles. Utilize mechanical engineering knowledge to understand and interpret engine market and industry trends and lead marketing initiatives for new product introduction and existing product change introduction. Confer with engineering management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures. Develop the long-term product line strategy, forecast, and the annual operating plan. Ensure the successful launch of new products and ensure that product branding strategy is implemented effectively in order to lead internal and external communications related to the product range. Utilize knowledge of Cross-Functional Design Review and Product Validation for engine design solutions for engineering products, systems, subsystems, and components in order to provide strategic feedback to the marketing team to plan for and implement appropriate sales approaches for target markets. Drive effective management of the product lifecycle, determine when hardware product lines should be deemed obsolete, and develop, implement, and measure results of product promotions. Collaborate with other functions and global locations to ensure global profitability of the product line. Recommend process changes that will improve Value Package Introduction and Value Package Change Process. Identify and execute changes to the product portfolio in response to evolving engineering market dynamics and user needs. Ensure timely launch of new engineering products and resolve distribution issues associated with accounts. Identify and implement engineering product improvement initiatives and key product direction to drive marketing strategies and provide input to the Strategic Planning Process. Manage aggregate product planning process and synchronized business planning product review process and drive customer focused Six Sigma initiatives. Conduct complex market research and develop communication plans for engineering products and systems. Apply advanced engineering knowledge to align products to global brand strategy and collect and interpret user satisfaction data integrating Voice of the Customer. Identify market research needs and requirements and review findings in order to work closely with market and segment leaders to translate findings into product attributes and associated product plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Positions require a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience as a Product, Systems, or Sales Engineer, or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience as a Product, Systems, or Sales Engineer, or related position. Experience to include: Technical activities for key product line lifecycles; Interpret engine market and industry trends; Project specifications and procedures; Cross-Functional Design Review and Product Validation; Product lifecycle management of product lines; Value Package Introduction and Value Package Change Process; Engineering product improvement initiatives; Develop communication plans for engineering products; Translate engineering market research into product plans.
