Product Engineering Specialist (m/w/d)

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Product Engineering Specialist (m/w/d) to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Traction Department in Nürnberg, Germany.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :

  • Develop innovative architecture concepts for electric motors and motor components.
  • Create and update 3D CAD models and detailed drawings using CREO, ensuring compliance with international standards and internal guidelines.
  • Define and review simulation work packages for structural integrity, strength, and noise/vibration analysis.
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams (design, testing, purchasing, quality, manufacturing) to provide expert mechanical insights.
  • Manage design documentation and release processes, including workflows, timelines, test plans, and drawing approvals.
  • Lead sub-projects within mechanical development, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Drive innovation by proposing and implementing new design ideas that enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Act as a mechanical subject matter expert, guiding stakeholders and mentoring other engineers throughout the project lifecycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences effectively.
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes for metals (casting, forging, milling) and plastics.
  • Proven ability to lead sub-projects and collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills to drive results in a cross-functional environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Experience:

  • Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree or equivalent accepted.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills in English (German is a plus).
  • Senior-level mechanical design experience, ideally with electric machines.
  • Expert proficiency in CREO and Windchill.

The compensation for this role is aligned with a local bargained or unionized agreement.
