Power Generation Electrical Field Service Technician

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Power Generation Electrical Field Service Technician to join our team specializing in the Service, Repair, and Maintenance of Gensets and Electrical Controls and Equipment for Cummins , ideally home-based in the Midlands/South Yorkshire Region of the United Kingdom.

This is a permanent, hybrid position, working Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:45pm and Friday 8:00am - 12:30pm. Flexible working arrangements and a 24/7 call-out rota (1 in 5 weeks) provide variety and career development opportunities.

Salary is up to £53,000 based on skills and experience.

You'll work with a skilled, supportive team across the UK, have opportunities for ongoing training, and be part of a company committed to innovation and safety.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Deliver high-quality preventative maintenance on power generation equipment in the field.

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime for our customers.

• Complete accurate service documentation, warranty claims, and quality reports in line with company standards.

• Escalate complex issues to product specialists or supervisors to ensure timely resolution.

• Maintain service vehicles, tools, and equipment in excellent condition for safe and efficient operation.

• Identify and communicate potential 'upsell' opportunities to customers.

• Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues to support team development and skills growth.

• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, reporting incidents as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Proven experience of diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining power generation equipment.

• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, including control panels, rewiring, and troubleshooting.

• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

• Proven ability to deliver high-quality work while adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

• City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.

• 18th Edition Electrical qualification preferred.

• Experience with PLC control systems, LV/HV switchgear, or aftermarket Genset controllers is advantageous but not essential.
