Power Generation Commissioning Technician

We are looking for a talented Power Generation Commissioning Technician to join our team specializing in Genset Start Ups and Testing for our Sales Power Gen Project Execution in United Kingdom.
The preferred sites for this position are Leeds, Wellingborough, and Peterborough. However, it can be based at any CMI UK facility. This role requires up to 50 percent domestic travel and 25 percent international travel.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :
- Deliver expert technical Testing: You will diagnose and complete complex generator and component trouble-shooting on-site, ensuring high-quality and timely service.
- Strengthen customer relationships: You will build trust through consistent communication, responsiveness, and reliable support that meets customer needs.
- Ensure safe and compliant work: You will follow all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and report any issues to keep the work environment safe.
- Provide high voltage and low voltage expertise: You will apply advanced electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve challenging power generation issues.
- Support team capability: You will coach junior technicians and apprentices, sharing your knowledge and reviewing testing/troubleshooting plans to improve team performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation: You will complete service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims and quality documents to ensure proper reporting and compliance.
- Keep tools and equipment ready: You will maintain your service vehicle and specialized tools in optimal condition to deliver efficient and professional service.

Qualifications
Education/ Experience:
- Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
- Locally valid driving permit
- Intermediate field work experience
- Expert level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
- Customer service experience
Responsibilities

- Strong technical expertise: Significant field experience and expert-level knowledge of power generation products, including both high voltage and low voltage systems.
- Customer focus: Ability to deliver excellent customer service, build trust, and manage on-site interactions professionally.
- Problem-solving and repair skills: Capability to diagnose complex issues, use specialized tools, and follow procedures to complete high-quality testing.
- Coaching mindset: Experience guiding and supporting junior technicians, sharing knowledge, and contributing to overall team development.
