We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineering Specialist to join our EMEIA Engineering team in Sandwich, United Kingdom , supporting Engineer-to-Order (ETO) products .
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :
- Drive cross-functional alignment: Act as a central coordination point between engineering, customer teams, suppliers, and manufacturing to ensure seamless collaboration and informed decision-making.
- Enable high-quality product decisions: Gather and synthesize stakeholder input to provide clear, data-driven recommendations that support product performance, cost, and reliability goals.
- Accelerate project progress: Apply technical knowledge and sound judgement to make timely decisions on day-to-day project details, ensuring momentum without compromising quality.
- Own components and deliver results: Take full accountability for smaller projects or complex components, managing ambiguity and ensuring successful delivery against expectations.
- Strengthen engineering processes: Apply and continuously improve structured methodologies such as ESW, DFMEA, FIRG, and 7-step problem solving to enhance product quality and consistency.
- Lead execution excellence: Independently execute established and emerging work processes while contributing to the development of improved systems within the function.
- Mentor and guide others: Coordinate work across technicians and junior engineers, sharing knowledge and supporting capability development within the team.
- Provide technical influence: Act as a trusted specialist within your discipline, contributing to technical direction and helping the team make sound engineering and product decisions.

- Strong ETO leadership and commercial awareness: Ability to lead engineering inputs into customer quotations, ensuring accurate BoMs, realistic resource estimates, and clearly defined validation scope in a fast-paced Engineer-to-Order environment.
- Advanced mechanical design and systems expertise: Deep understanding of mechanical systems and control integration (open/closed loop), enabling the development of robust, innovative designs that meet diverse customer and operational requirements.
- Configuration, change management, and release discipline: Proven experience managing product configurations and engineering changes through tools like Windchill, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and timely release of bespoke designs and documentation.
- Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement: Strong ability to work with Manufacturing, Distribution teams, customers, suppliers, and offshore engineering support to clarify requirements, resolve build issues, and deliver effective engineering solutions.
- Technical leadership, governance, and mentoring: Capability to lead design reviews, risk assessments (including iDFMEA), and ensure alignment to ETO KPIs, while mentoring others and maintaining high engineering standards across the team.
Education/ Experience
- College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.
- Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
- Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
- Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
