Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented Maintenance Shift Lead- 2nd Shift to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Cummins Inc. facility in Ladson, SC.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Maintain an unwavering commitment to safety by identifying hazards, following HSE requirements, using PPE, and immediately reporting risks, incidents, and injuries.

- Maximize equipment reliability through effective preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance while supporting failure analysis.

- Serve as a technical leader and resource by coordinating work, sharing expertise, and supporting the development of less experienced team members.

Education/Experience
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and relevant experience.

Job Summary
- Supervise and co-ordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team by co-ordination of team members, achievement of functional KPI's / targets and housekeeping.
- Provides detailed reactive and proactive technical guidance and feedback for team members in accomplishing technical tasks and goals; sets expectation and clarifies responsibilities ensuring performance standards, standard work, business values and ethical standards are maintained.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge within ME and maintenance function. Identifies skill set gaps within the team, drives continuous improvement, drives and implements changes in current processes and equipment to reduce safety incidents and increase equipment uptime.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures team members are using and following safety protocols. Lead, develop and highlight training needs within the team.
- As a technical lead assist with the completion of COMET investigations representing the maintenance function. Drive engagement in safety investigations and initiatives within the team.
- Supervise and co-ordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team by co-ordination of team members, live issues, and achievement of functional KPI's / targets.
- Provides guidance and feedback for team members in accomplishing technical tasks and goals; sets expectations and clarifies responsibilities ensuring performance standards, standard work, business values and ethical standards are maintained.
- Conduct structured daily start and end of shift meetings. Ensure Work orders are clearly documented and in alignment with Maximo expectations.
- Co-ordinate apprentice on the job training in alignment with the apprenticeship criteria and department goals.
- Lead the team with a continuous improvement mindset through lessons learnt and data analysis. Drive departmental ownership of known and ongoing issues.
- Work cross-functionally to recommend improvements and engage in improving safety, productivity, quality, and efficiency of team.
- Serves as group lead on projects and work assignments, providing development opportunities to the team in co-ordination with department manager.
- Work in alignment with department manager to coach and mentor team members. Provide input and suggestions toward annual reviews and performance management. Assists management in organizing and coordinating headcount and overtime needs to meet production and delivery schedules.
