DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented IT Applications Analyst to join our team specializing in Systems/Information Technology for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fridley, MN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Optimize Application Functionality You'll analyze system capabilities and recommend enhancements that increase utilization of standard features, improving business efficiency and process alignment.
  • Ensure Accurate Configuration and Setup By determining and verifying optimal application configurations, you'll ensure systems meet functional requirements and operate reliably.
  • Bridge Business and Technical Needs You'll collaborate with process owners, analysts, architects, and vendors to translate business requirements into functional application designs.
  • Resolve Functionality Gaps You'll identify limitations in current systems and recommend solutions that close gaps, ensuring applications fully support business operations.
  • Lead Vendor Engagement You'll maintain strong relationships with software vendors, working closely with them to resolve issues and enhance application performance.
  • Support Implementation and Maintenance You'll contribute to the successful rollout and ongoing support of applications, ensuring stability and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert You'll act as the go-to resource for application functionality, processes, and procedures, supporting both project teams and day-to-day operations.
  • Drive Functional Documentation and Specifications You'll create and manage detailed functional specifications that guide development and configuration, ensuring solutions align with business goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • Advanced Technical Proficiency You'll need to be tech-savvy and skilled in solution design, configuration, modeling, and validation testing to ensure applications meet functional, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills Managing complexity and conducting functional fit analysis will enable you to evaluate systems holistically and resolve issues effectively.
  • Process Optimization Mindset Knowing how to streamline work processes and continuously improve application functionality will drive efficiency and long-term value.
  • Conflict Management and Collaboration Navigating differing perspectives and resolving conflicts with minimal disruption will be key to maintaining productive relationships across teams and vendors.
  • Global and Inclusive Perspective Applying a global lens and valuing diverse viewpoints will enhance solution relevance and foster innovation in a cross-functional environment.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Intermediate level of relevant work experience required. 3-5 years of experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

  • Role Expectations: This position will require the selected candidate to report on-site 60% of the time each week. However, the hiring manager is flexible and open to candidates located close to a Cummins facility.
  • Demonstrate deep technical expertise in Oracle EBS, MES IT solutions, and related technologies, including custom development and database management, to design and deliver robust IT solutions.
  • Lead and manage IT projects using Waterfall or Agile methodologies, ensuring timely delivery, accurate cost estimation, and thorough benefit analysis.
  • Design and implement effective IT solutions by leveraging a strong understanding of end-to-end cross-functional business processes, particularly within supply chain and manufacturing.
  • Apply knowledge of IT infrastructure components to support the integration and performance of enterprise systems across the technology landscape.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders -including business process owners, SMEs, super users, end users, and central IT teams-to ensure IT solutions align with business needs and objectives.
  • Drive process improvement by eliciting requirements, designing optimized business processes, and building scalable, reusable, and supportable IT solutions.
  • Support and maintain production systems in partnership with central IT teams, ensuring operational continuity and responsiveness to evolving business demands.
  • Stay current with IT advancements to identify and implement incremental enhancements that improve business capabilities, efficiency, and system performance.
