DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Inside Sales Representative Commercial Power Generation to join our team in Sales in Houston, TX.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Convert Inbound Interest into Revenue You'll turn unsolicited prospect calls into actual sales, maximizing every incoming opportunity and contributing directly to revenue growth.
- Proactively Drive New Business By cold-calling and developing leads through various channels, you'll expand the customer base and open doors to new markets.
- Strengthen Customer Relationships Your follow-up efforts with existing customers will foster loyalty, encourage repeat business, and create opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling.
- Support Strategic Sales Operations Assisting with quotations, RFPs, and negotiations ensures the sales team operates efficiently and meets company guidelines.
- Ensure Customer Satisfaction By executing the Cummins Sales Process and resolving customer concerns, you'll help maintain high satisfaction levels and long-term partnerships.
- Maintain Accurate Sales Data Your attention to detail in CRM systems and forecasting tools will support data-driven decisions and improve sales performance tracking.
- Facilitate Smooth Account Setup You'll play a key role in onboarding new customers, ensuring Cummins is properly set up as a supplier and that account data is accurate.
- Collaborate Across Teams for Success By coordinating with internal stakeholders, you'll help balance inventory, service, and delivery expectations-ensuring customer needs are met while supporting company goals.

- Articulate a Strong Value Proposition Understand customer applications and clearly demonstrate how Cummins products outperform competitors. Your ability to translate technical features into customer benefits is key.
- Understand the Sales Ecosystem Develop channel awareness and pricing strategy skills to navigate the market effectively. Knowing how products reach customers and how pricing impacts decisions will help you position offerings competitively.
- Leverage Data for Forecasting and Pipeline Management Use customer insights and historical data to forecast demand and manage your sales pipeline. This helps you stay ahead of trends, adjust strategies, and hit your targets consistently.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- Advanced certificates or college degree in the field of Sales or Marketing, or an acceptable combination of education and experience required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Limited prior experience required.
- Experience as a quote analyst or another sales support function desirable. Limited travel may be required.
- Experience with customer relationship management software desirable.
- Experience with other software-based sales and business tools desirable.
