In-shop diesel technician

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced Truck and Transport Mechanic to join our team in Surrey (B.C.)

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to succeed in this role-you will need:

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

• Commercial or Truck and Transport Journeyman certification is mandatory for this position
• CVIP license is mandatory
• Locally valid driving permit (mandatory)
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
• Level 1 First Aid considered an asset

Experience:

• Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
• Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)
• Experience with full chassis repairs: Brake Systems, A/C Diagnostics, Chassis Electrical, Transmission Repairs.

About the role

• Training provided (training will be on the day shift).
• This position will transition into an afternoon role with working hours from 4:00PM to 12:00AM. Monday - Friday (Afternoon Shift)
• Union environment.
• Salary is $51.13 hourly. Afternoon shift premium : 1.50$ hourly
• Work is mostly on transport trucks and transit buses.
