General Manager - Hodgkins

We are seeking an experienced General Manager - Hodgkins to provide overall leadership and accountability for the Hodgkins branch, with responsibility for operational performance, financial results, customer satisfaction, and team effectiveness. This role is based in Hodgkins, IL and offers an onsite with flexibility work environment.

The General Manager oversees all branch functions and drives execution against the Annual Operating Plan and key business metrics, including profit and loss, asset management, safety, quality, and customer experience. As the senior leader for the branch, this position drives market growth, strengthens customer engagement, and fosters a high-performance, service-focused culture aligned with Cummins' values.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Branch leadership and accountability: Lead all operations for the Hodgkins branch, with full responsibility for financial performance, asset management, and balanced scorecard results.
  • Industry and service expertise: Apply strong industry knowledge and an understanding of Cummins' service offerings to support vehicle servicing operations and deliver value to customers.
  • Operating plan execution: Own and execute the Annual Operating Plan, translating strategy into day-to-day operational priorities and measurable results.
  • Customer focus and relationship management: Build and maintain tight, trust-based relationships with external customers through frequent interaction, proactive communication, and a strong understanding of customer needs.
  • Market growth and project execution: Support market growth through disciplined execution of customer-facing initiatives and projects, coordinating cross-functional resources to deliver on commitments.
  • Customer experience excellence: Drive customer satisfaction through Net Promoter Score and Lens of the Customer insights, embedding a customer-first mindset across all branch activities.
  • Operational quality and continuous improvement: Oversee warranty submission and resolution, identify recurring service or warranty trends, provide feedback to improve products and processes, and improve Repair Event Cycle Time.
  • People leadership and engagement: Lead, develop, and motivate branch employees by fostering collaboration, accountability, and inclusion, while reinforcing Cummins' values and performance expectations.
  • Safety, compliance, and responsibility: Champion a strong health, safety, and environmental culture, ensure regulatory and policy compliance, and promote corporate responsibility within the branch and local community.

  • Business and market insight: Understanding of service operations, market dynamics, and customer needs within the vehicle or industrial service space.

  • Results orientation: Ability to manage priorities, deliver results, and maintain engagement in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
  • Self - awareness and collaboration: Uses feedback to grow as a leader and manages relationships and conflict constructively.
  • Health, safety, service, and inclusion leadership: Champions health, safety, service capability principles, and an inclusive workplace that values diverse perspectives.

Education/Experience:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline required.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Sponsor certification required.
  • Significant relevant experience required, including managerial, budgetary, and strategic responsibility.
