Utilize knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practices to understand financial, accounting, and managerial reporting concepts and apply them to finance systems. Identify and lead finance systems improvement projects within the finance function and be responsible for the maintenance of a critical finance system. Apply US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to record transactions in compliance with requirements and company policies, assess the accounting requirements and objectives to determine the implications on the business, and communicate to stakeholders with varying financial knowledge. Install or advise on systems of recording costs or other financial and budgetary data. Examine and evaluate financial and information systems recommending controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity. Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology. Utilize Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle Financials/ERP and Hyperion applications to discover, interpret and communicate qualitative and quantitative data and determine conclusions relying on knowledge of business or functional frameworks. Apply data analytics including statistics, data validity, data visualization, and problem-solving approaches to effectively extract meaningful patterns and business insights, present conclusions and outcomes that enable data driven business decisions. Interpret complex financial data by analyzing trends, variances, opportunities and risks to provide insight to stakeholders regarding financial impact to drive business improvement. Provide guidance for the annual budget process, expense and staffing forecasts, and statistical reporting. Partner with IT teams and project management specialists to develop, test and deliver Finance System solutions. Utilize financial forecasting data to provide forward looking projections to facilitate decision making regarding planning. Partner with stakeholders to analyze financial trends and validate assumptions to provide a forecast that aligns with the organization's goals. Identify, evaluate, and document internal controls in a business process while understanding the company's approach to internal controls. Assist end-users in developing customized reports and ad hoc analysis, train end-users to expedite adoption of new system solutions, and understand data classification for confidentiality. Collaborate with finance leaders and subject matter experts within the business segment or organization, using expanded understanding of finance systems, to identify and promote information needs of the business. Assess accounting requirements and objectives to determine implications on the business.
