Field Service Technician

Job Summary:

Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on engines and related components at the customer site with minimal direction.

We are looking for a talented Field Service Technician to join our Distribution business in (Morgan City, LA).

In this role you will make an impact in the following ways

• Complete repairs on engine products in the field and different client sites, and boats.
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cum30.97mins products
• Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
• Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
• Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.
• Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.
• Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.
• Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software

Employee will be required to maintain a valid Driver's License, TWIC Card, and Passport. Time and Service Reports are expected to be turned in Daily. Company Credit Card Expense Reports are to be completed in a timely manner and as required. All Credit Card Receipts are to be turned in with paperwork. Employee must have their own personal tools; specialty tools are provided by Cummins. Employee will be required to perform the Safety Procedures and Reports on every job. Safety Training will need to be completed when assigned and stay up to date. Virtual Technical Training is also available at any time online. The employee will work a 14/7 schedule; on call for 14 days, 24 hrs/day (can be called at any time during the day) and then off for 7 days. During their 14 days on call, if the employee does not work at least 48 hrs they will have the opportunity to make up to 48 hrs by doing Virtual Training.

• A current valid license is required for this role
• Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
• This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred).

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution.

Locally valid driving permit.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Minimal level of workshop related experience required.

Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.

Locally valid driving permit.
