We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Engine Technician / Mechanic to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in White Hall, WV
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Complete repairs and rebuilds on engine products in the field.
- Develop productive customer relations and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
- Apply documented procedures and policies to complete repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.
- Assist with completion required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Complete training in line with skill and business requirements
- Ensure adherence to all meaningful Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- (Advanced) Technician Level III: Significant relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on most or all of products in-scope for a technician at this location; frequently engaged in complex diagnosis and repair; requires minimal to no supervision; ability to effectively train and guide less experienced technicians of varying skillsets. Flexibility to work various hours and days of the week with the ability to be on call and available for emergency needs.
- Must meet all requirements to drive a Company vehicle including a valid driver's license and insurance.
- Must be able to physically lift 50 pounds occasionally, wear required personal protective equipment as required.
- Locally valid driving permit
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
CDL - Class A or B
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Significant field service work experience
Cummins expert level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
Customer service experience
Miners Card (Preferred)
Generator repair experience (Preferred - especially load banking)
Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)
QUALIFICATIONS
This role will require the employee to work outside of the normal work environment. Role will require travel and will be customer facing while in the field. Employee will need to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times and communicate effectively with the customer and management. Employee will be expected to be on the on call rotation.
Preferred skills for this role will include:
A valid driver's license with CDL's (Class B or higher)
Familiarization with basic computer programs such as word and excel
Field service work related to all engine application and power gen applications (Cummins and ONAN experience are preferred but not required)
- A current valid CDL is required for this role.
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violations
- This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and on going random drug and alcohol testing
- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
- Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
