Engine Workshop Technician

DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Engine Workshop Technician to join our European team specializing in Service for our Distribution Business in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom.
This is a permanent contract working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Perform essential engine repairs and maintenance by following documented procedures to ensure quality and reliability.
- Support workshop efficiency through accurate disassembly, inspection, and cleaning of engines and components.
- Ensure compliance and safety by adhering to Health, Safety & Environmental policies and reporting any incidents promptly.
- Maintain operational readiness by keeping tools and work areas clean, organized, and in proper working condition.
- Contribute to accurate service records by completing required documentation such as work orders, time sheets, and warranty claims.
- Assist in troubleshooting and diagnostics under supervision, applying guided workflows and specialized tools to identify issues.
- Participate in continuous learning by completing training aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Support customer satisfaction by delivering timely, high-quality repairs that meet organizational standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Technical aptitude and mechanical knowledge: Ability to apply basic principles for engine repair and maintenance using appropriate tools and procedures.
- Attention to detail and accountability: Committed to following safety standards, service guidelines, and accurate documentation practices.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn: Open to acquiring new skills through training and hands-on experience in a dynamic workshop environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork: Able to collaborate with supervisors and peers to ensure smooth workflow and problem resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
- Apprentice-trained Engine Technician (preferred) or vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution.
- Locally valid driving permit (preferred); this role may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Workshop experience required; basic knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
- Competencies: Strong commitment to health and safety, mechanical troubleshooting, and accurate service documentation.
