Engine Field Service Technician (GTA)

DESCRIPTION

Cummins is looking for a certified Field service technician to join its team in Mississauga, Ontario.

This is a field service diesel technician role-work is mainly in the GTA.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Establish and continually develop productive customer relations and ensure prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
• Apply the use of specialized tools and follow documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete complex repairs at customer sites.
• Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engines and related components in the field.
• Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
• Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

• 310T/421A Red Seal Endorsement is mandatory for this position.
• Locally valid driving permit is mandatory for this position.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

• Basic level field service work experience.
• Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products (Transit/Automotive, On-highway, Agricultural, Marine and Industrial engines).
• Customer service experience.
• Nat Gas/EV Training (TSSA Certified) is considered an asset for this role.
• Experience with high Horsepower engines (19L and above) is an asset for this role.

About the role:

At Cummins, we uphold the highest safety standards to ensure a secure working environment for all employees.

• Working hours are 7am-330pm Monday-Friday
• On call rotation required, with a standby pay
• Union environment.
• Pay range is between $44.82 and $49.27 hourly as per current CBA
• Annual bonuses.
• Yearly boot and tool allowances.
• Benefits start day 1 (vision, dental, pension plan etc.).
• This position is a backfill.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A copy of your red seal or trade diploma will be required
• A local driver's license verification will be required
• A copy of a 5 years driver's abstract will be required.
