Job Summary:

Assists Engineers in carrying out production-related and inspection jobs; assists in monitor materials quality in processing plants and making the required adjustments; maintains and supports documentation and records. Works under moderate supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment and products to technical specifications to identify defects. Conducts simple tests (for example on electrical function, reliability, packaging quality). Records results and prepares simple technical reports. Provides product and component testing using a range of measurement equipment. Assists customers in understanding/interpreting product specifications and application of measurement data. Participates in measurement uncertainty studies for measurements associated with measurement or calibration results. Ensures proper maintenance and calibration of the measurement and test equipment.

Quality Process Management - Proficient application of quality tools and methods (e.g. APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, Capability studies, Process Audit, inspection, test, etc.) to ensure quality of products, processes and services.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.

  • Manage, organize, and control the quarantine area to ensure proper segregation of nonconforming materials.
  • Ensure all quarantined items are clearly labeled, identified, and stored according to company and IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Maintain accurate physical and system status for all materials on hold.
  • Prevent unauthorized access, movement, or use of quarantined parts.
  • Receive, document, and classify nonconforming materials from production, suppliers, or inspection areas.
  • Coordinate material disposition actions (rework, scrap, return to supplier, use-as-is, or re-inspection).
  • Issue and track Nonconformance Reports and ensure all required information is complete.
  • Support containment activities and communicate priority issues to the quality team.
  • Maintain accurate records of quarantined materials in Oracle
  • Update material status, quantities, and movement logs to ensure traceability and audit readiness.
  • Generate reports on quarantine inventory, trends, and disposition activity.
  • Work closely with Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality, Production, Warehouse, and Purchasing teams to resolve material issues.
  • Communicate critical material blocks that could impact production schedules or customer requirements.
  • Follow up with suppliers on returns, replacements, or corrective actions as directed by Quality or Purchasing.
  • Ensure the quarantine area meets IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and internal procedures.
  • Support internal, external, and customer audits by providing quarantine records, traceability data, and material history.
  • Verify that materials are stored according to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and reconciliation of quarantined materials.
  • Monitor aging materials and escalate cases requiring urgent disposition decisions.
  • Prepare weekly or monthly dashboards on quarantine status, volume, and trends.
  • Ensure safe handling, storage, and movement of materials within the quarantine area.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and compliant work environment.
  • Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and hazard communication guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve quarantine flow, accuracy, and response times.
  • Support process improvements related to nonconforming material management.
  • Contribute to corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurrence of defects.
  • To execute and train all related visual inspections and welding inspections.
