Diesel Technician

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Bronx, NY.

You will make an impact in the following ways:

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Completes complex internal engine repairs
• Performs engine overhauls unassisted
• Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
• Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Locally valid driving permit

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Previous Cummins Internal Engine Repair & Software (Insite/QSOL) experience (Required)

QUALIFICATIONS

Has used INSITE/QSOL or OEM software for T/S, ECM calibrations and testing.

Has completed more than one unassisted overhaul on a Cummins engine. In-frame or out of frame.

Has a detailed understanding of aftertreatment systems

Has performed multiple internal engine repairs. Examples include head gaskets, camshaft replacement, cylinder kit replacement, bearings, etc.

Good understanding of troubleshooting trees

• This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
