DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Customer Sales Representative to join our team specializing in Sales for our Service Operations Department in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Drive Business Growth: You'll proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities, expanding Cummins' footprint in your territory and unlocking untapped potential.
- Achieve and Exceed Sales Targets: By executing strategic account plans and leveraging coaching support, you'll consistently meet or surpass your sales goals.
- Build Strategic Customer Relationships: Your ability to understand customer needs and buying processes will foster trust, loyalty, and long-term partnerships.
- Deliver Tailored Cummins Solutions: You'll match customer priorities with the right Cummins offerings, clearly articulating the value proposition and securing buy-in.
- Negotiate and Manage Accounts Effectively: From closing deals to managing receivables and resolving payment issues, you'll ensure financial health and compliance.
- Strengthen Customer Retention: Through responsive service and ongoing engagement, you'll drive repeat business and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Leverage Tools and Processes: You'll consistently apply the Cummins Sales Process and CRM tools to track progress, report activity, and optimize performance.
- Balance Operational Demands: Collaborating with internal teams, you'll align inventory, service, and delivery capabilities with customer expectations to ensure smooth execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES

- Customer-Centric Communication: The ability to translate complex technical data into clear, actionable insights tailored to diverse audiences-ensuring your message resonates and drives engagement.
- Data-Driven Forecasting: Skill in analyzing customer behavior and historical trends to build accurate, actionable sales forecasts that inform smarter decisions and resource allocation.
- Pipeline and Strategy Mastery: A proactive approach to managing your sales pipeline-evaluating its health, adjusting tactics, and coaching others to keep momentum and meet objectives.
- Focused Account Planning: Precision in setting strategic goals, tracking progress, and aligning account plans with business targets to drive consistent growth and performance.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Experience:
- College, university, or equivalent degree in Marketing, Sales or a related subject, or acceptable sales related work experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing quotes and driving sales of new engine products, ideally in a customer-facing role.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
