DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Corporate Development Director to join our team. This is a hybrid position, preferably based in Indiana , to enable strong in-person stakeholder engagement and support future growth opportunities. Other U.S. Cummins locations or remote work may be considered.

The Corporate Development Director plays a critical role in advancing strategic initiatives across the organization. This position supports a wide range of business strategy and development projects through rigorous qualitative and quantitative analysis. Projects include acquisitions, strategic partnerships, or joint ventures and often span multiple business units and geographies. The Corporate Development Director demonstrates exceptional leadership in guiding cross-functional teams, ensuring timely execution of complex projects and delivering impactful outcomes under demanding deadlines. Additionally, the Corporate Development Director serves as a subject matter expert in mergers and acquisitions, facilitating strategic discussions with the Cummins executive team and guiding decision-making to drive long-term growth.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Strategic Insight and Opportunity Development - Provide actionable insights that inform Cummins's strategic objectives while proactively identifying and developing opportunities such as acquisitions, divestitures, and portfolio optimization.
  • Comprehensive Transaction Leadership - Proven experience leading all aspects of complex transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic deals-from initial strategic rationale to execution.
  • Advanced Analytical and Financial Skills - Expertise in overseeing the creation of detailed financial models, conducting valuation analysis, and performing rigorous qualitative and quantitative assessments to support strategic decision-making.
  • Project Management Excellence - Strong capability to manage multiple work streams, prioritize competing projects, and deliver results under tight deadlines while ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Executive-Level Communication and Presentation - Skilled in developing high-quality materials for senior leadership review gates and presenting recommendations to the Cummins executive team with clarity and confidence.
  • Stakeholder Management and Negotiation - Ability to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, maintain alignment across diverse functional areas, and effectively manage communication and negotiations with external parties and advisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree - Finance, Accounting, Business, Strategy or similar degree required.
