DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team specializing in chassis repair for our Distribution Business (Indianapolis, IN).
Day Shift for first 2-3 months during training and then 3PM - 11:30PM Shift
$5000 sign on bonus
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on drive lines and other customer equipment in a service shop.
- Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work.
- Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
- Completing required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role the following is preferred:
(Intermediate) Technician Level II:
- Some relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on an intermediate number of products in-scope for a diesel technician at this location.
- Primarily engaged in moderately complex maintenance and repair.
- Some exposure to moderate or complex diagnostics, requires limited direct supervision, may provide basic training or guidance to new technicians.
- CDL is a nice to have but not required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Trade School with 3-5 years' experience preferred.
Experience:
- Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with chassis products
- Includes basis maintenance to major repair work such as engine overhauls or replacements, Clutch replacement, brakes steering and suspension work, Trouble shooting, ETC.
- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
- A current valid license is required for this role
- Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
Compensation and Benefits Base
Salary rate commensurate with experience.
