AWS Platform Engineer Principal

We are looking for a talented AWS Platform Engineer Principal to join our team specializing in Systems/IT for our Corporate organization in Columbus, IN .

• Drive automation excellence by designing and implementing scalable solutions that streamline infrastructure provisioning, reduce manual effort, and accelerate deployment cycles.
• Set technical direction by leading the creation of system architectures, infrastructure designs, and detailed documentation that guide consistent, high-quality solution delivery.
• Ensure secure, high-performing systems by actively participating in design, cybersecurity, and code reviews to uphold architectural standards, security principles, and performance expectations.

• Modern Development Practices - Applies modern engineering practices and tools-such as Agile/DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and infrastructure as code-to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and reduce risk across the SDLC.

• College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

• Design, automate, and deploy AWS resources using CI/CD pipelines.
• Guide the team on technical solution design and deployment feasibility.
• Collaborate with application teams to understand technical requirements and deliver solutions.
• Backlog & Governance
• Prioritize backlog items, feature stories, and platform enhancements in Jira.
• Ensure platform foundation governance, compliance, and security alignment.
• Operations & Troubleshooting
• Provide L3-L4+ support during major incidents, guiding teams on root cause analysis and resolution.
• Lead troubleshooting across complex infrastructure, networking, and application integrations.
• Leadership & Ownership Expectations
• Lead and mentor teams on AWS platform best practices, automation standards, and operational excellence.
• Drive technical decision-making, architecture reviews, and cross-functional collaboration to align platform capabilities with business objectives.
• Ensure accountability for delivery timelines, governance compliance, operational stability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
