DESCRIPTION

Utilize extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices to highlight mechanical features of company engineering products to assigned accounts to achieve sales goals. Analyze and interpret data from the engineering market from a variety of sources to formulate unbiased market projections in order to provide critical feedback to engineering design teams and the organization utilizing knowledge in Market Forecasting. Lead Channel Awareness to explain and contextualize industry structure, dynamics, and path to market in order to advance organizational goals for mechanical products, processes, and services. Utilize knowledge of Pricing Strategies to develop prices by aligning and building consensus with key stakeholders across functions to achieve business targets to present to engineering project teams. Grow the business by negotiating and implementing contracts with accounts, and managing customer questions and escalations for accounts receivable and/or payment terms. Interface with the Engine and Components Business customer in order to extend and expand sales of products and services to existing clients. Confer with senior management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures in order to determine action plans to improve satisfaction after reviewing data that measures user satisfaction with company products and services. Manage production and distribution issues associated with complex accounts, act as a champion for voice of the customer (VOC) to strengthen customer relationships and provide technical feedback to the organization, review, recommend and approve contracts and cost estimates. Utilize comprehensive and extensive knowledge of company mechanical products components and develop and execute account strategies to expand sale of products and services to existing clients. Estimate demand for products and services, develop organizational goals and activities, and promote mechanical products, services, and programs efficiently and effectively. Plan proactively for successful execution of account/territory-level sales strategies and plan based on current pipeline to evaluate pipeline health (size, contents, progress). Drive Customer Focus Six Sigma initiatives and utilize Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) to manage the coordination and overall integration of technical activities for engineering projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Positions require a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management or related field and 2 years of experience as an Application or Quality Engineer, Account or Program Manager, or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management or related field and 5 years of experience as an Application or Quality Engineer, Account or Program Manager, or related position. Experience to include: Market Forecasting; Channel Awareness; Develop Pricing Strategies for engineering projects; Contract negotiation to extend and expand sales of mechanical products; Interface with the Engine and Components Business customer; Manage production and distribution; Champion Voice of the customer (VOC) to strengthen customer relationships; Develop and execute account strategies; Six Sigma initiatives utilizing Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS); Sales Pipeline Management.
