The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Portfolio & Development Finance, as the Senior Analyst, Portfolio & Development Finance, you will be presented with an exciting opportunity to broaden your development horizons in an area of strategic importance to the business. You will assist with the R&D Therapeutic Areas and overall Portfolio for the Portfolio, Development & Commercialization (PD&C) group, as well as supporting the wider Finance Business Partnering requirements for CSL's Global R&D organization. You will establish a deep understanding of global TA and PD&C strategies, evaluating global financial implications for all of them. You will provide financial support and insights toto help drive short- and long-term study goals.

This is a hybrid role, which offers a combination of an onsite and remote work schedule. #LI-hybrid

The Role:

You will be focused on supporting the TA and Portfolio Finance groups and play a key role in the delivery of the R&D Finance Business Partner model. Core activities will include:

Financial Planning and Performance Management:

  • Supporting Development & Portfolio Finance team in analyzing and reporting upon Global R&D results
  • Support the financial planning and reporting requirements for overall R&D with close collaboration with the R&D Finance LT
  • Assist with Monthly Financial Reviews and Quarterly planning cycles to drive deeper understanding of portfolio dynamics, financial implications and future sensitivities

Value and Insights:
  • Support Development & Portfolio Finance team in preparing and presenting financial position and variance drivers as part of both month-end and planning cycles

Other Accountabilities:
  • Champion the Business Partnering mind-set; support strategic decision-making across the R&D Portfolio
  • Be an advocate for changes that support the R&D organization in Finance process improvement activities

You will also:
  • Support the Senior Director, Development & Portfolio Finance and Associate Director, Portfolio Finance in developing and reporting upon robust analysis on movements and projections for the overall R&D Portfolio on both a short (within FY) and long-term (strategic plan) basis.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for the Senior Director, Development & Portfolio Finance in ad hoc requests and projects across the R&D Portfolio, including all areas within the Portfolio & Development Finance remit.
  • Contribute to or lead global or R&D specific projects as required to improve the business, Function or Finance's performance.
  • Support other Portfolio & Development Finance team members on an as needed basis for ad hoc requests and analysis across all areas within the team's remit.
  • Clearly define customer needs and review both ad-hoc and routine reporting and analytics to ensure they meet internal customers' needs and are well understood.
  • Participate in developing tools, techniques, and best practice approaches to support the ongoing development of the R&D Finance capability in support of the Finance Strategy and R&D Finance Vision.

Your Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or other advanced degree a plus.
  • 3-5 years' experience in Accounting or Finance roles, preferably with experience in budgeting and forecasting, analysis.
  • Sound interpersonal skills, sound judgment, ability to influence, ability to execute globally integrated processes, strong analytical thinking, timely decision making and priority setting, ability to work cross-functionally and across all levels.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and collaborate effectively with multiple levels and cross functionally within a site.
