Senior Manager, Contract Governance & Compliance

The Senior Manager of Contract Execution is responsible for the development, negotiation, and management of contracts These tasks will require liaising between Market Access Accounts teams, Marketing, Pricing, Analytics and Sales, and cross-functional commercial stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be skilled in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on contracting tactics and operational execution. Strong management and communication abilities are essential, as well as expertise in cross-functional collaboration.

This position will report to the Associate Director, Contract Execution and will work closely with other members of the contracting team and leaders across other functional areas to ensure strategic alignment with overall company and division objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

Contract Execution:

  • Development and negotiation of contracts to optimize market access
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and implement contracting strategies that are aligned with overall business plans and objectives
    • This will include the contract initial offer letter, the contact redline process, and the execution of agreements
    • Mange redline process with recommending alternative language when necessary to mitigate company risk in collaboration with Market Access and Legal. Coordination with Market Access team to facilitate legal to legal or business to business meeting with the customer throughout the redline process to finalize Terms and conditions.
    • Coordinate internal stakeholders: SPC, Marketing, and Market Access to escalate any contract related decisions through appropriate Pricing Committee review.
    • Create contract templates and maintain updates in collaboration with Legal.
  • Ensure all contracts are loaded to Model N with approved T&C's, pricing and date of execution
  • Ensure the appropriate documentation is attached within Model N to support all contract changes, specifically related to price, payment terms and membership eligibility
Collaboration with Internal & External Stakeholders:
  • Work closely with Finance, Legal and Compliance to ensure all contracts comply with relevant regulatory requirements and standards, including state and federal healthcare regulations
  • Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure contracts align with organizational goals
  • Collaborate with Market Access Accounts, Marketing, Sales, Analytics and Pricing to ensure contracts are aligned to brand and pricing strategies
  • Collaborate with Market Access Accounts, Marketing, Sales, Analytics and Pricing to support RFPs and offers through Contract Review Committee & Pricing Committee.
  • Close collaboration with the Director of Distributors Contracting & Operations to ensure all contracts are loaded appropriately to the Authorized Distributors and chargebacks are reported accurately
Contract Compliance:
  • Monitor and report on contract performance for all current and newly implemented contracts, using data-driven insights to adjust and improve outcomes
  • Review contract compliance with Market Access Accounts Team, SPC, and Marketing to align on all contract related performance and actions per contract terms.
  • Responsible for implementing quarterly price changes or contract term changes based on contract compliance.
  • Support internal/external audit process. Assist Management with gathering and providing supporting contract documentation to complete the audit by required deadline.
Reporting and Monitoring:
  • Facilitate the creation of reports and enhancements to accounts 360 dashboards to show contract performance
  • Analyze current contract processes and identify process improvements that reduce waste (steps), eliminate errors, increase productivity and improve cycle times resulting in customer satisfaction.
  • Create a formal process improvement plan that defines the objectives, responsibilities, creation of documentation (SOP, Training Material, Work Instruction, etc.), responsibilities and timelines.
Qualifications & Experience requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Biological Sciences or Finance.
  • 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech and/or healthcare industry. • 4+ years of direct experience in market access insights, analytics, pricing and contracting in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • Strong understanding of provider and distribution channels (commercial, government, SP, GPOs, IDNs, etc.).
  • Strong presentation and communication skills - with exceptional aptitude for learning quickly and ability to communicate technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to network across a broad internal and external matrix organization and the skills necessary to form strong, productive partnerships and build consensus and acumen.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to understand broader market dynamics and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills to leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Model N, SAP and/or other contracting platforms.
