Senior Analyst Accounting Transactions Japan

Position Purpose:

This is a new role resulting from CSL's new Operating Model and the establishment of a Global Accounting Operations Team.

The role is part of the Transactional Management Team and will be responsible for general cash management duties (posts bank transactions in SAP, applying cash to appropriate ledgers, clearing accounts), supporting the tax team on transactional postings and local tax filings, support with intercompany recharges and reconciliations and support the asset team with general asset duties.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1 Post bank transactions into the SAP system daily, as well as clear transactions through clearing accounts to account for FX and match payments to payment runs or intercompany transactions.

2 Maintain finance mailboxes and action any ad hoc queries, respond to and address inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

3 Raise manual journals as necessary and review the journals prepared by the outsourced vendor.

4 Coordinate external and internal audits by providing documentation, responding to audit requests, and implementing follow-up actions as directed, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

5 Support with the preparation of tax working files including but not limited to withholding tax, corporate tax, consumption tax, import consumption tax, shiharaichosho and manage my number

6 Perform reconciliations, including but not limited to Accruals, Prepayments, Inventory, Intergroup/Intercompany, bank, tax asset and payroll

7 Support in the monthly intercompany payment procedures, whereby intercompany receivables and payables are settled on a group basis and appropriate payments, postings and clearances are actioned.

8 Assist with assets additions, disposals, WBS set ups, depreciation run and file a return for the fixed asset tax (Shōkyaku Shisan-zei) in Japan.

9 Assist in inventory management by preparing intercompany invoices, processing provisions or write-offs in accordance with Group policy, and reviewing and resolving intercompany discrepancies.
10 Support finance operation project: Support accounts payable, treasury and accounts receivable processes as part of the BPO project and other ad hoc finance initiatives. Tasks may include verifying invoices, approving vendor registrations, confirming outsourced vendor payment data, manually inputting data from Concur to SAP, reviewing billing and rebate data, monitoring wholesaler credit status. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of project-based tasks, with flexibility to adapt as responsibilities may transition to other functions in the future.

11 Analyse and report on variances between actuals, budget, and forecasts for balance sheets and cash flow.

12 Complete the month-end and bi-annual closing processes in the ERP system, ensuring compliance with local regulations, company policies, and requirements, and submit all relevant reports on time.

13 Support budgeting and forecasting for intercompany transactions and balance sheet planning and ensure timely data uploads/locks in FinanceCore.

14 Support continuous improvement projects and process enhancement plans, performing ad hoc tasks as needed.

Position Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

Education

School qualifications, College qualifications

Experience

3+ years' experience in accounting and finance.

Experience in global scientific/pharmaceutical industry highly desirable.
