Associate Director, Medical Affairs

Responsibilities:

• Global responsibility for medical oversight of selected products, e.g. Ig or Albumin within the assigned disease area(s).

• Contributing to the medical affairs strategy for assigned portfolio in alignment with overall therapeutic area objectives

• Identifies potential challenges, risks and roadblocks associated with the global medical strategy and works as a leader in developing solutions to address these, working cross-functionally and inter functionally with other departments.

• Evaluates trends and therapeutic opportunities in cooperation with research and regional commercial and medical organizations

• Implements strategy for scientific interactions with the medical community including key opinion leaders and patient advocacy groups

• Supports coordination of investigator led studies and research collaborations

• Serves as scientific consultant to marketing, commercial, access and research project teams, providing input into promotional and educational materials for relevant therapeutic areas

• Ensures medical standards and processes are in alignment with expectations of manufacturers by internal and external stakeholders including regulators, governmental agencies, payors, physicians, patients and the general public.

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in science (PhD, PharmD), MD or equivalent plus accredited residency.

• Minimum 8 years' relevant pharmaceutical/ biotherapeutics industry experience

• Sound experience interacting with commercial functions within the healthcare industry

• Knowledge of therapeutic specialty area, e.g. PID, SID or IgG-mediated autoimmune-diseases
• Experience and success in addressing and managing complex medical issues in the pre-approval and post-approval environment.
