About the Role:
We believe the Sales Development Representative (SDR) role at CrowdStrike is one of the strongest platforms to build a career in cyber security sales.
If you love talking to people and understanding their perspective, are curious about the cyber industry, and take pride in smashing goals, this is the role for you.
You'll join a team that works together in the office, brings the best out of each other and has fun doing it. Success means making an impact while you're in this role, and building the skills to move into your next one.
What You'll Do:
Start conversations.
- Reach out to organisations that don't use CrowdStrike yet, and understand their business and security objectives. Understand what they are worried about, what they are trying to achieve and educate them on the value of partnering with CrowdStrike.
- Conduct multi-channel outreach via phone, email, and LinkedIn, focusing primarily on outbound prospecting while also following up on inbound leads sourced from campaigns, content, and event engagement.
- Ask relevant questions to determine whether there's a real problem CrowdStrike can solve, then book a meeting between the prospect and an account executive.
- Research accounts thoroughly before you call, so you can form a perspective on the likely challenges a business is facing.
- Use AI to help you prioritise where your time goes, and to write outreach that's specific to the person you're contacting rather than generic.
- Go back through your own call recordings and transcripts, spot what's working and what isn't, and fix it.
- Try new approaches, track the results, and tell the team what you learned. Good ideas from this team end up in the playbook.
- Learn the threat landscape and the CrowdStrike platform to communicate with enough depth and conviction to educate an industry security professional, but also simply and succinctly to a friend.
- Learn the cybersecurity market; the partners, vendors & problems we jointly solve for customers.
- Learn how to take something complicated and explain it simply, so your conversations stay focused on the customer's problem rather than on product detail.
- You'll have a monthly target for qualified meetings booked, and uncapped commission for hitting and beating it.
- Know your own conversion rates at each stage. Understand how your daily activity turns into weekly and monthly results.
- Keep Salesforce up to date and your notes useful. It's how your account executive walks into a meeting prepared instead of cold.
- Treat the relationship with your account executives as a partnership. You plan account outreach together and you share the outcome.
- Leverage marketing campaigns, assets and events and collaborate with our channel partners.
- Elevate each other's skills through roleplay, peer-to-peer feedback and best practice sharing.
- Work with the team in person - we work 3 days a week in office.
- You'll receive a comprehensive onboarding and solid grounding in professional selling, including frameworks you'll use for the rest of your career.
- There are proven progression certifications and trainings you'll work through during your time in Sales Development. They're designed to help ensure you are ready for account executive, account management, sales engineering or other roles.
- A real interest in learning, both the sales craft and the cyber security industry and a positive attitude towards feedback.
- Curiosity about AI and how to use it in your own work. You don't need to be an expert, but you do need to be willing to try things.
- Technical aptitude, and the ability to pick up new business and technical concepts quickly.
- Drive to hit your number and beat it, on your own and as part of a team.
- Clear communication, written and spoken. Listen, ask questions, and be clear about next steps.
- The ability to handle pushback. An objection usually means there's more to understand, not that the conversation is over.
- A genuine interest in building a career here.
- The ability to learn how to effectively use tools such as Gong, Salesforce, Sales Navigator and AI tools to ensure efficiency in the role.
We believe in what we sell. Nobody expects you to know everything on day one, but we do expect you to build real belief in what we're here to do, which is to stop breaches. When a customer raises a concern, we don't pretend it isn't there. We deal with it honestly. If you don't believe in what you're selling, your customer won't either.
We also care about how we treat people. We show respect to everyone regardless of their title, we lead with curiosity, and we know when to be serious and when not to be. The aim is that people come away from talking to you feeling better about themselves and about the company. Your teammates should see you as someone whom they can go to equally in victory and when they need advice or support.
If that's how you want to work, get in touch!
