About the Role:
The TechOps CICD team is dedicated to empowering CrowdStrike's engineering teams to provide robust, reliable CICD ecosystem to build, test and deploy their code for smooth software release delivery. The TechOps CICD team has several subgroups based on their function or capacity they operate in.

This role of engineering manager is to lead our growing TechOps CICD SDA (Software Delivery Automation) Team distributed across different time zones. This team is responsible for developing and implementing new as well as enhancing/streamlining existing CICD workflows to ensure faster and quality software release delivery for CrowdStrike's customers.

What You'll Do :
  • You will lead a team of DevOps engineers focused on delivering mission-critical software through CICD automation. These engineers are high-performing individuals with broad and wider technical skills and deep knowledge of industry standard CICD, build and deployment systems supporting multiple team disciplines in EMEA/APAC.
  • Align, guide and empower engineers to automate and manage critical processes, optimize usage of CICD processes/tools, integrate build and test agent provisioning systems for automated pipelines, help resolve and unblock escalated issues and integration problems affecting delivery workflows.
  • You will be required to take initiative on establishing and cultivating key relationships with other leaders within the organization. Investigate and evaluate next generation technologies and provide insight on future roadmap goals to ensure CrowdStrike continues to be the leader in Cybersecurity.
  • Analyze and understand the project requirements, urgency/criticality and then prioritize accordingly.
  • Triage problem tickets to make sure they are properly prioritized and investigated to ensure our partner's need are addressed with respect to support they need from our team.
What You'll Need:

Soft Skills:
  • 10+ years of experience working as a build engineer or software engineer with preferably 3+ years of engineering management experience in a large-scale environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to work with a distributed team across multiple time zones.
  • Potential for 1 or 2 business meetings per year.
  • Must work effectively and professionally as part of a team with worldwide, cross-functional groups across divisions.
  • Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail and have the ability to make well-informed, timely decisions and prioritize numerous simultaneous tasks based on urgency and priority.
  • Demonstrate self-learning capabilities, taking initiative in a fast-paced/quickly changing environment.
  • Security-first mindset and general understanding of cybersecurity principles.
Technical Skills :
  • Expertise with various consumer and enterprise operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS, Android) operating at large scale.
  • General knowledge of a wide range of DevOps tools.
  • Experience of writing new or streamlining existing CICD workflows to ensure CrowdStrike's customers get the features and bug fixes they need on time and with the highest of quality.
  • Experience of building automation using CICD automation tools such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, AWX etc...
  • Familiarity with infrastructure provisioning tools such as VMware vCenter, terraform, Packer etc...
  • Working knowledge of enterprise-grade configuration management tools such as Ansible, Salt, Chef, Puppet etc...
  • Deep familiarity using Git repository solutions such as Bitbucket, Gitlab etc...
  • Experience working in various public clouds such as AWS, GCP, Azure etc...
  • Working experience of writing pipeline code in Jenkins using Groovy, including shared libraries.
  • Extensive familiarity with code-reviews for quality and adherence to company style guides.
  • Ability to understand the needs of a scaling organization, including how to optimize jobs/pipelines to sustain growth.
  • Experience with common scripting/programming languages such as Python, Go, PowerShell etc...
  • Familiarity with designing/implementing complex end-to-end workflows around the software development lifecycle and supply chain management.
  • Experience on reading/writing scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards and alerts.
  • Focus on improving methods and processes, reducing friction, and championing such improvements to internal stakeholders/service partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with modern technologies for potential implementation.
  • Emphasize and produce documentation of processes/procedures to help ensure longevity.
