About the Role:
CrowdStrike is seeking a Data Protection Manager to lead our enterprise data protection strategy and team. This leadership position will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive data protection programs, building and managing a high-performing team, and establishing governance frameworks that align with business objectives and compliance requirements.

What You'll Do:
Strategic Leadership:
- Build and lead a data protection team, including hiring, mentoring, and developing team members
- Develop and maintain the enterprise data classification framework and labeling strategy
- Establish data governance policies and procedures
- Create and oversee the data stewardship program
- Design and implement data protection controls across all data stores
- Establish data ownership model and accountability framework
- Lead the development of data handling standards and procedures
- Oversee data protection impact assessments
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders including Legal, IT, and Product Business Units
- Guide the implementation of DLP solutions and data protection tools
- Oversee eDiscovery programs and processes
- Guide the development of data inventory and mapping initiatives
- Ensure proper data retention and disposal practices
- Develop risk assessment methodologies for data protection
- Create and maintain data protection metrics and reporting
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
Leadership Experience:
- 5+ years of privacy or information security experience
- 2+ years of specialized experience in data protection
- Team management experience
- Deep understanding of data protection technologies and tools
- Experience with data classification tools and methodologies
- Knowledge of eDiscovery platforms and processes
- Familiarity with cloud security and data protection controls
- Experience developing and managing program budgets
- Ability to translate technical requirements into business value
- Track record of successful cross-functional program implementation
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field
- Relevant certifications (CIPM, CIPP, CISSP, etc.) or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience with regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Experience developing data governance frameworks
- Knowledge of data lifecycle management
- Understanding of privacy by design principles
- Ability to influence senior leadership and drive organizational change
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
